2. Sultanahmet Square

This is the square next to the Blue Mosque, which was historically Constantinople’s Hippodrome. If you are coming from Taksim Square, you can take the F1 Funicular to Kabataş Tram Station, and from there take the T1 Tram to Sultanahmet Station.

From Beşiktaş, you can take buses 22, 22RE, 25E, 40T, and 42T to reach Sultanahmet.

If you are coming from Galata, take the T1 Tram from Şişhane to Sultanahmet Station.

From Karaköy Station, take the T1 Tram to Eminönü Station, cross the Galata Bridge, and walk to Sultanahmet.

3. Gulhane Park

  • Coming from Galata: Take the T1 Tram from Tophane to Gülhane Station.
  • Traveling from Karaköy: Take the T1 tram from Karaköy station to Gulhane Station.
  • Arriving from Kadıköy: Take the ferry from Kadıköy Ferry Port to Karaköy, then take the T1 tram from Karaköy Station to Gülhane Station.
  • Journeying from Üsküdar: Take the ferry from Üsküdar Ferry Port to Karaköy, then take the T1 tram from Karaköy Station to Gülhane Station.

How to get from Galata? Walk towards the Galata bridge and take the T1 tram, only 3 stops to Gülhane station. The tram stop exit is right in front of the Gülhane Park entrance.

4. Khedive Pavilion and Grove

The tulip, one of the important symbols of our culture, blooms again on the land it belongs to. Another venue that hosts the tulip festival is the Hıdiv Pavilion and Grove, located on the Bosphorus side between Çubuklu and Kanlıca districts on the Anatolian side of Istanbul.

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) planted 294 thousand 200 tulips of 8 different species in the Hıdiv Çubuklu Grove on 24-28 April last year, and 92 thousand 720 tulips in 8 different species in the Beykoz Grove.

Hıdiv Grove welcomes its visitors with its nature consisting of hundreds of plant and tree species, beautiful gardens, green areas, filtered pools, walking and sightseeing tracks. It also has one of the largest rose gardens in Istanbul.

The Khedive Pavilion and Grove is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and admission is free.

How to go to Khedive Pavilion and Grove?

  • Take the M6 metro line to Üsküdar Station.
  • From Üsküdar, take a ferry across the Bosphorus to Kanlıca. It is the second stop after leaving Üsküdar.
  • Once you get off the ferry in Kanlıca, you can take a taxi to the Khedive Pavilion and Grove.

5. Göztepe 60th Year Park

Yıl Park, situated between Bağdat Street and the coastal road, provides access from both Bağdat Street and the coast. Municipal buses numbered 4, 16-D, or GZ21, which pass through Altıyol and go from the coast to Bostancı, allow access to the park from the coast of Kadıköy at 60th Yıl Park.

6. Yildiz Park

Yıldız Park in Beşiktaş, on the European side of Istanbul, provides a magnificent backdrop for the impressive tulip displays throughout the festival. Last year, 32 different types and more than 700 thousand tulip bulbs were planted here. The park, which houses the most beautiful picnic areas, is also popular with families.

After getting off at Kabataş by using the Kabataş – Bağcılar tram line, you can reach the park by taking a bus to Yıldız Park. The bus numbers to Yıldız Park are known as 22 and 22E. It is enough to get off the buses at the Yahya Efendi stop.

7. Camlica Hill (Küçük Çamlıca Grove)

Çamlıca Hill, located in Üsküdar district of Istanbul, is an unusual and rarely touristic place with 1 children’s playground, 1 sports field. Çamlıca Grove has views from the Asian side to the Old City. If you don’t mind a little climbing, the view of thousands of tulips and hills climbing up makes this an enjoyable adventure. The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality reorganized Küçük Çamlıca Grove in 1980 and constructed social facilities that belong to the municipality. Common trees in the grove include pine, larch, red pine, cypress, plane tree, hornbeam, linden, Spanish fir, flowering, ash, redbud, cedar, and eastern plane tree. There are three historical buildings in the grove, namely Sofa Mansion, Cihannüma Mansion, and Topkapi Mansion. As part of the Tulip Festival last year, 610,000 tulips of 15 different species were planted in the Küçük Çamlıca Grove.

From Taksim Square: Take the M2 Metro to Şişhane Station. Then, take the Tünel funicular to Karaköy. After that, take the ferry to Uskudar. When you are in Uskudar, take bus number 15F or 15H to Camlica Hill.

8. Beykoz Grove

Beykoz Grove or Abraham Pasha Grove , located in the Beykoz district of Istanbul , is spread over a large land on the ridges of the Bosphorus, between Beykoz and Paşabahçe districts. It starts from the slopes facing the Bosphorus and extends inland to the Riva. It integrates with natural forests in the east.

Today, the grove, which belongs to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, is open to the public. It has two parking lots, two country cafes, a restaurant, two greenhouses, outdoor sports fields, a playground, sitting terraces and picnic areas. The trees in the grove include rare species such as sequoia, red-leaved elm and Japanese saffron, as well as numerous species of horse chestnut, plane tree, linden, oak, redbud and acacia.
